Checkpoint Charlie at CicLAvia

The Wende Museum had a prominent role in CicLAvia, which has become a phenomenally popular civic event with more than 100,000 participants. Wilshire Boulevard was closed down from Grand Avenue downtown to Fairfax Avenue and only used by cyclists and pedestrians on Sunday, June 23rd from 9 am to 5 pm. The Museum installed original Checkpoint Charlie signs in front of our Wall segments and used social media at the event to capture contact information and publicize the Museum’s mission and collections.
