SUMMARY:Soviet Hippie Archives Open House
DESCRIPTION:Explore art\, music\, and fashion made by hippies in the Soviet Union through archival materials from the Wende’s Soviet Hippie Collection. From 12 to 5 p.m.\, guests can engage with original poetry\, photographs\, handmade clothing\, and newly-digitized audiotapes made by the Soviet hippies. Terje Toomistu’s movie Soviet Hippies (2017) will be playing in the A-Frame theater throughout the day. \nThe open house will take place on the 2nd floor of the Glorya Kaufmann Community Center. In addition to viewing selected materials\, attendees can participate in crafting activities inspired by Soviet hippie art and fashion.
