SUMMARY:Tabla Marathon (Salar Nader Tabla Foundation)
DESCRIPTION:The Salar Nader Tabla Foundation presents a day-long marathon in partnership with Rhea Designs\, Inc. This full day of tabla drumming will showcase many talented performers and culminate in an unforgettable evening concert. Experience the artistry of our dedicated tabla players and engage with insightful “Tabla Talks” featuring next-generation artists sharing their journeys and passion for this beautiful instrument. Don’t miss this incredible celebration of talent\, tradition\, and community. \nA standout artist of his generation\, tabla virtuoso Salar Nader is recognized as a global ambassador weaving South Asian arts into the musical traditions of his Afghan heritage. A percussionist\, composer\, and producer\, Salar studied under Ustad Zakir Hussain since the age of seven. Nader scored the original stage adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s best-selling novel The Kite Runner\, which had a groundbreaking run on Broadway in 2022 and a national tour in 2024. In early 2025\, Salar premiered and toured Zakir Hussain’s Murmurs in Time with Third Coast Percussion\, for whom the piece was written. Salar continues his dedication to community engagement\, workshops\, and cross-cultural understanding. \n\n\n\nSeating is first come\, first served. An RSVP does not guarantee entry.
