SUMMARY:Two-Piano Concert with Vivian Fan and Eloise Kim
DESCRIPTION:Pianists Vivian Fan and Eloise Kim present an evening of music for two pianos that moves from cosmic intensity to lyrical intimacy to Latin American rhythm. The program opens with Holst’s Mars\, the Bringer of War from The Planets\, followed by Arvo Pärt’s meditative Hymn to a Great City and Chopin’s virtuosic Rondo in C Major. \nAfter intermission\, Debussy’s En bateau from Petite Suite evokes the gentle motion of water\, leading into the warmth and folk-inspired lyricism of Guastavino’s Tres Romances and Bailecito. The concert concludes with Piazzolla’s Adiós Nonino\, a powerful tango elegy that transforms personal grief into a universal expression of remembrance. \nThe program will be followed by a complimentary reception. \nVivian Fan is Director of Collaborative Piano at the Colburn Conservatory. An accomplished chamber musician and recording artist\, she has performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall and collaborated with leading instrumentalists worldwide\, with appearances broadcast on major television and radio programs. \nEloise Kim is a faculty member at the Colburn Conservatory and an active soloist and collaborative pianist. Praised for her poetic phrasing and lyrical playing\, she has appeared with orchestras across the United States and performs regularly at major festivals and concert venues. \nSpecial thanks to the Victor family for their generous support. \nSeating is first come\, first served. An RSVP does not guarantee entry. Late admission is not permitted once the program begins.
