Fall Exhibitions Opening Day: Visions of Transcendence: Creating Space in East and West and Ceija Stojka and Scenes of Roma Life

Join us for the opening day celebration of our Fall exhibitions: Visions of Transcendence: Creating Space in East and West; which presents artwork and photography from incarcerated and unhoused persons from the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe as well as from the United States and Western Europe; and Ceija Stojka and Scenes of Roma Life; which juxtaposes artwork by Austrian Romani writer, musician, painter, and activist Ceija Stojka (1933-2013) with captivating photographs of Roma and Sinti daily life in Cold War-era Eastern Europe; as well as our new guardhouse installation, Wende Times.

The inaugural public tour will begin at 1 p.m., followed by artist and curator remarks at 2 p.m. and a garden reception at 3 p.m.
