Join us for an interview with John Emerson, an American diplomat, lawyer, and the United States Ambassador to Germany from 2013 to 2017. He was the 2015 recipient of the State Department's Susan M Cobb Award for Exemplary Diplomatic Service, which is given annually to a non-career ambassador who has used private-sector leadership and management skills to make a significant impact on bilateral or multilateral relations through proactive diplomacy. Emerson will be joined in conversation by his wife, Kimberly Marteau Emerson, Board of Directors Human Rights Watch and Principle KME Consulting. They will be interviewed about their views on post-Cold War Germany by Joes Segal, the Wende’s Chief Curator and Director of Programming. 

Prior to the interview, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany will provide welcoming remarks.
