Collected Fragments—Traces of the GDR
November 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009
5900 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, California
Fragments refer to what is left behind, what is broken, or what has been isolated from lived reality. They reflect the imprint of time and memory. Curated by Justinian Jampol, Executive Director of the Wende Museum, and Joes Segal, a professor of history at Utrecht University and curator-in-residence at the Wende Museum, the exhibition Collected Fragments conveys a sense of this fragmentation through the material remnants of East Germany, a culture now lost.
