Several people, associated with a commune in Leningrand, stand in a ballroom, 1977. Four people in dark-colored clothing stand in a cluster at left; most face towards the left. Four more people in lighter-colored clothing stand in a row to the right of the other cluster of people. A man in partial view along the right edge crosses his arms and smiles to camera. To the left of him, a man stands with his arms to his sides as he looks to the left. A man and a woman stand side-by-side to the left of him. The man's head is turned away from camera and towards the woman standing beside him. She smiles and glances down as he appears to converse with her. Panelled walls occupy the background.
