A group of several hippies protesting war and nuclear weapons stand in circle on a sidewalk in St. Petersburg, 1978. At center, the protesters nearest to camera stand with their backs to the camera. Protesters on the far side of the circle face towards camera. One handdrawn signs for the protest rises above the group. On the sign, an "X" is drawn over a silhoutted bomb with an "N" on it. To the right and in front of the group, a child walks by and looks up towards the cluster of protesters. Pedestrians walk along the sidewalk around the group. A building rises up from the far side of the sidewalk.
