Three individual pages show comparisons between a passport picture and a photograph of a person. Black and white images of passport pictures are shown, alongside scans of original photographs. The differences between the two images on each page are described under the section "Unterschiedliche markante Merkmale" or "Differing Distinctive Characteristics", where features such as eyelids, upper lip, chin, and head shape are compared. Attachment 7 lists four differences between the images, while attachments 8 and 9 list three. In all three cases, the identity is not a match. This was likely a training tool for new border guards so that they would recognise if a passport used to enter the GDR matched the identity of the person crossing the checkpoint.
