Description

Large wooden commemorative gift from the USSR to Germany. The gift is made of primarily wood and wood veneer. The type of wood appears to be birch. There are two pieces of the gift; the mug base and the mug lid. There is also a large handle attached to the base. On the front of the mug the inscriptions and images are displayed. There are inscriptions indnicating the 60 year celebration of the Great October Socialist Revolution as well as the gift givers name noted in the bottom right hand corner. In the center of the mug there is an image of both the soviet and german symbols. On the top of the mug there is visible chipping. This is the only place where serious damage has occurred. The wood is stained a dark yellow/brown color. The image presented in the center appears to be stained with black, green and red.
