White plate with brown rim, "Für besondere verdienste in der "Volkskunstinitiative IX. Parteitag der SED"/Rat des Kreises Sonneberg 1981" (For special merit in the "People's Art Initiative 9th Party Congress of the Socialist Unity Party," Council of District Sonnenberg 1981). Painted in the center of plate is a lyre, sheet music, and foliage. Inscription on the back: "handgemalt" (hand painted) and possbile maker's mark "St D".
