Three sheets of donation stamps, all in the value of 20 Pfennig. The purchase of the stamps benefits the Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundshaft, or Society for German-Soviet Friendship. The logo of the Society is shown on every stamp. Collecting two of the stamps and sending them in to the Secretary of the Society enters an individual in a draw to win either a trip to the Soviet Union or a special gift. The first sheet, "Schneller Weiter Höher", is related to aviation - both military and commercial. The stamps depict scenes of planes in battle or flying across sunsets. Each stamp identifies the type of plane it shows. The second sheet, "Vom Werden und Wachsen unserer Freundschaft" shows various depictions of daily life in the DDR and the USSR. For example, Soviet soldiers in celebrating in 1917, parades, folk dance, a train departing, members of the Young Pioneers of the Freie Deutsche Jugend, and industrial scenes. The third sheet is titled "Sportler Kämpfer Freunde" and relates to the Summer Olympics of 1980 held in Moscow, also known as the Games of the XXII Olympiad. The stamps show different sporting events and famous DDR and Soviet athletes who are famous for that sport. Nina Dumbadse (discus), Ludmilla Turitschewa (gymnastics), and Irina Rodnina (iceskating) are all pictured. Some of the stamps also commemorate important German-Soviet sporting events from 1919 onwards, such as the first Sport Parade (Erste Sportparade) in Moskow, 1919.
