Black two-ring binder compiling Peter Bochmann's work on the identification of persons at border crossing points. The binder contains Bochmann's work on methods of identity recognition and identity verification processes at the border. Included are pages from "Grundlagen der Personenidentifizierung in grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr" or "Basics of Personal Identification in Cross-Border Traffic" (see 2017.015.047) which explain the main external physical characteristics that are useful for personal identification, and list their possible variations and forms, accompanied by labeled diagrams. There are additional example pages with photographs of persons who exibit certain distinctive facial characteristics, or who show the effects of aging on facial appearance. Also included are multiple pages with photographs of people of non-European descent, in order to show that facial features vary by "race group". Other documents in the binder explain how facial hair can obscure or change facial features, provide photographs of people who look similar but are not identical, and provide example exam questions on verifying an identity match between two photographs.
