'USSR in Construction' was a photographic propaganda magazine published from 1930 to 1941, and agin in 1949, serving as a foreign relations tool to portray a postive image of the developments of the USSR to an audience abroad. The magazine featured many popular writers, graphic designers, playwrites, and photographers through out its publication. The style is in line with other early 20th century photo magazines. It was published in four languages: Russian, English, French,German, and Spanish in 1938. It was later succeded by another magazine, 'The Soviet Union', in 1950. This issue includes articles about: City Improvements, Youth Festivals, Car Maufacturing, Collective Farming Groups, Rest Homes, Lake Baikal, the Highlands of Armenia, Football, and Mountaineering. These articles are accompained by a mix of black and white and color photographs. The cover features a photo of "the new things built in the Stalin District of Moscow. Photo by A. Garanin."
