Beige album with gold, cyryllic lettering on the front. The pages show yellowing around the edges and some have stray pencil markings. This book was published in Moscow in 1988 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR and is meant to instruct surveillance officers on female features for the purpose of identification. The book is 88 pages long and has sections dedicated to hairstyles, chins, eyebrows, eyes, noses, and mouths. Each section consists of a series of numbered illustrations which depict different instances of features. For example, the section on hairstyle contains a series of different hairstyles. Each illustration is isolated from other facial features. The purpose likely would have been to allow an agent to develop a composite of an individual by putting different features together.
