During the ten years of Civil War in Afghanistan, 15,000 Soviet troops were killed in action, 37,000 were wounded, and many more are still listed as missing in action or as prisoners of war. Many of those who were wounded will be chained to their wheelchairs for the rest of their life. This wheelchair in military green with red star is meant to commemorate the lives of those who risked their lives for a war that is now considered, reckless and unnecessary. The white text on the top right hand corner reads: In Afghanistan... Died - 15,000 Disappeared - ?..... Wounded - 37,000 Captured - 300 Soviet Soldiers
