Sibirtseva's wooden windmill represents the life of a typical Soviet woman. Women's days in the Soviet Union were full of responsibilities and required multi-tasking. The many arms of this windmill illustrate the typical duties that a woman completed in a day and provide a breakdown of how much time she spent on each: One (1) hour spent doing laundry One (1) hour spent cleaning Three (3) hours spent cooking Seventeen (17) minutes spent with her child Nine (9) hours working One and a half (1.5) hours spent shopping (most likely for groceries) These duties are time-consuming, leaving this woman/windmill with only 17 minutes per day to dedicate to her child.
