Description

Sukharev's work embodies the feelings of the Soviet people during the era of Perestroika and Glasnost. By the late 1980s, the Soviets had been disillusioned by incoming Party leaders. Therefore, when Gorbachev came to power and introduced new freedoms that resembled a democracy, the concensus was that, like a parrot, he was all talk and empty promises.
