Home movie of a trip to the East German countryside, possibly Wernigerode. Family lounges beside car in grass. Mother sits in folding chair, mends cloth seat of another chair. Teenage son and father appear to tap a tree for sap. Improvised small water wheel in stream. Mother reaches into station wagon then turns to face camera. Pan across river landscape; close-up of son with still camera in a crowd of tourists at an overlook. Views of a large dam, cars and trucks passing through a tunnel. Mother and father use a watering can to wash car. Pan over forest landscape; views of rocky mountain stream. Mother, in a dress, walks over rocks. Views of footbridge and lodge or hut.
