The second program in the In Search of Truth series is a panel discussion on the role of truth and truthfulness in education. Members of our student council invite Dr. Kelly Kent, neuroscientist and member of the Culver City School Board, and Catherine McTamaney, associate professor of the Practice of Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Vanderbilt University, to discuss the social responsibility of teachers, the sociopolitical context of teaching methods and teaching objectives, and the importance of critical thinking in times of fake news, alternative facts, and conspiracy theories.
