Like as the Hart, a staged reading of a new play by Oliver Mayer with live Baroque music
Lübeck, Germany, 1705: Without an invitation, 20-year-old JS Bach walks several hundred kilometers to hear his idol Dieterich Buxtehude play. He ends up staying for four months. What happened during that time, and how much (or little) did music take precedence? A new play about mentoring, intended and otherwise, and the sympathetic laws of inspiration, coded deep in the music — played live by Artifex Consort.
No RSVP necessary.
