Two-Piano Concert with Vivian Fan and Eloise Kim

Pianists Vivian Fan and Eloise Kim present an evening of music for two pianos that moves from cosmic intensity to lyrical intimacy to Latin American rhythm. The program opens with Holst’s Mars, the Bringer of War from The Planets, followed by Arvo Pärt’s meditative Hymn to a Great City and Chopin’s virtuosic Rondo in C Major.

After intermission, Debussy’s En bateau from Petite Suite evokes the gentle motion of water, leading into the warmth and folk-inspired lyricism of Guastavino’s Tres Romances and Bailecito. The concert concludes with Piazzolla’s Adiós Nonino, a powerful tango elegy that transforms personal grief into a universal expression of remembrance.

The program will be followed by a complimentary reception.

Vivian Fan is Director of Collaborative Piano at the Colburn Conservatory. An accomplished chamber musician and recording artist, she has performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall and collaborated with leading instrumentalists worldwide, with appearances broadcast on major television and radio programs.
