Wende Museum Fall 2025 Exhibitions Opening Day

Join the Wende Museum for the opening of our Fall 2025 exhibitions, featuring Enrique Martínez Celaya: The Sextant and Intersections: The Architecture of Victor Adegbite and Charles Polónyi in Ghana, as well as the debut of a new installation by Hande Sever, Specters of the Red Woodstock, in the East German Guardhouse.

The day includes a 12 p.m. tour followed by a 2 p.m. reception with artist and curator remarks.

The Sextant reconstructs the modernist Cuban home built by Martínez Celaya’s father during the Cuban Revolution, transforming it into an immersive meditation on exile, memory, and the fragile boundary between reality and dream.

Intersections traces the collaboration between Ghanaian architect Victor Adegbite and Hungarian architect Charles Polónyi in 1960s Accra, exploring how design, independence, and ideology intertwined at the height of the Cold War.

Specters of the Red Woodstock reimagines the East German Guardhouse to explore the surveillance of the International Youth Festivals in East Germany.

Free and open to the public.
