GLORYA KAUFMAN COMMUNITY CENTER

The Glorya Kaufman Community Center transforms the formerly unused site at 10858 Culver Blvd. into a first-of-its-kind 7,500 sq. ft. mixed-use space dedicated to the arts, education, outreach, and community connection. All programming and services are free and open to the public, continuing the Wende’s commitment to open access. The center is also home to the Wende’s nonprofit convenings, workshops, and the annual Nonprofit Transformation Prize, strengthening the fabric of Culver City’s civic and cultural life.

The project reactivated a disused theater and replaced a dilapidated front structure with a new cultural and educational facility — addressing a real shortage of meeting venues and performance spaces in the area. The result is a state-of-the-art space including a theatre, classrooms, a learning garden, and community gathering areas, available to nonprofits and community organizations for education, outreach, and networking.
