An Afternoon With Bowie’s Piano Man: Mike Garson
On the final day of our exhibition “David Bowie in the Soviet Union,” the Wende Museum is honored to present a one-of-a-kind musical experience celebrating a legendary artist: a performance by Mike Garson, Bowie’s longtime pianist.
Garson is perhaps best known for the piano solo in Bowie’s classic song “Aladdin Sane,” which he improvised in one take. He performed 600 concerts with Bowie, and also worked with renowned artists such as the Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, and St. Vincent.
In addition to performing selections from David Bowie’s songbook, Garson will also share stories and reminiscences of his time with Bowie.
Don’t miss this rare chance to explore and celebrate Bowie’s work with a musician who stood beside him for decades.
