Night of Ideas

Los Angeles’ Night of Ideas 2025 is coming to the Wende Museum on Saturday, April 5 from 5 PM to 11 PM!

This immersive event will occupy the entire Wende Museum, from the garden to the rooftop, galleries to the tiny house, theatre to classrooms. Enjoy food trucks, drinks, and an evening of inspiring conversations and artistic exploration.

This year’s Night of Ideas explores the theme “Common Ground,” bringing together thinkers, artists, and cultural organizations to explore what unites us—our histories, skies, and artistic expressions.

The night will feature engaging discussions on a range of topics, from the impact of wildfires and urban planning in Los Angeles to the global significance of the Paris and LA Olympics. We’ll delve into the historical ties between the U.S. and France through Haiti, explore literature as a borderless space, and examine the intersection of AI, privacy, and surveillance. The evening will also highlight sustainability initiatives like the Biophilia Treehouse Project and reflect on the intersection of human history and ecological change, considering actions needed to restore balance and lessons from the past and present.

Beyond the discussions, immerse yourself in a walking meditation in the Wende Museum’s Garden, offering a moment of stillness and reflection, or dive into a lively dance movement session that encourages self-expression and connection to the space. Then, look to the stars with stargazing led by the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, offering a breathtaking view of the night sky and a chance to contemplate our place in the universe. Finally, gather around the fire pit for a storytelling session—a warm space for sharing and listening to stories that inspire collective understanding.

Join Villa Albertine Los Angeles, the Wende Museum, and a powerhouse lineup of artists, scholars, and innovators for an unforgettable evening of inspiring talks, performances, art, and collective imagination.
