Leonid Lamm’s Soviet Prison Art: An Interview with Olga Lamm
Please join us for an interview with Olga Lamm, daughter of artist Leonid Lamm who is represented with numerous works in our exhibition Visions of Transcendence: Creating Space in East and West. She will speak with the Wende’s chief curator and director of programming Joes Segal about her father’s work, his experiences in Soviet prisons, and about her own artistic practice, in part in response to the work of her father.
Olga Lamm is a Moscow-born, New York-raised artist whose multimedia practice includes digital collage, text-based installations, and animation. Polymorphous and serial, her work reveals connections between our interior and exterior realities, merging the realms of macro and micro, and nature and technology in the process. Lamm holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, with exhibitions in the US, Europe, and South America. For more info: www.olgalamm.com.
