Vietnamese New Wave: A Rising Tide
The Wende is pleased to partner with NEW WAVE and AZN AMERICANA to be part of their New Wave: A Rising Tide event, which celebrates shared heritage, breaks down harmful myths, and crafts a narrative that centers joy and celebration. The Wende Museum has also pledged support to house New Wave’s physical archives until a permanent home is found, underscoring our shared mission and commitment.
This program will feature a full-day celebration of Vietnamese American creativity & highlight the importance of preserving Asian American stories. The goal is to excite & inspire the next wave of Asian American creatives. Throughout the day, we’ll showcase real life photography & video footage from the Vietnamese New Wave community of the 80s.
