Virtual Friday Night Films at the Wende: Refusenik

Featuring Refuseniks whose portraits are currently presented in the exhibition Soviet Jewish Life, this week’s film pick shows how a small grassroots effort bold enough to take on a Cold War superpower blossomed into an international human rights campaign that engaged the disempowered and world leaders alike. Told through the eyes of activists on both sides of the Iron Curtain, the film is a tapestry of first-person accounts of heroism, sacrifice, and liberation.

Watch for free on Amazon and Vudu.

Virtual Film Picks are inspired by the in-person Friday Night Films at the Wende program series. This selection is part of a curated list of weekly movie suggestions that can be watched at home, in conjunction with #WendeOnline.
