Discussion with Artist János Vető

Join us for an in-gallery discussion with the Hungarian avant-garde photographer, poet, and filmmaker János Vető, who will speak about his collaboration with the Hungarian performance artist Tibor Hajas. A film of their legendary final performance, Vigil (May 18, 1980), appears in the exhibition Promote, Tolerate, Ban: Art and Culture in Cold War Hungary, on view at the museum.

This discussion is co-sponsored by the Photographic Arts Council (PAC), coinciding with the exhibition Promote, Tolerate, Ban: Art and Culture in Cold War Hungary, a collaboration with the Getty Research Institute that is on view at the Wende Museum from May 20 to August 26, 2018.
