Two hippies play their violins outside at the "Большой дом" (Big House) in Poklonnaya Gora neighborhood in Leningrad, 1978. Both musicians stand beside a tree that rises along the left edge of the photograph. The person nearest to camera stands with their back facing camera while playing their violin. They appear to read sheet music affixed to a large plank of wood that leans against the tree at left. To the right of him, a makeshift table stands on the ground. Behind the table, the other violinist stands. They play their violin and face towards camera. He gazes downward towards the tabletop, presumably reading sheet music sitting atop it. The yard they stand in extends back to the right. Fencing lines the back edge of the yard. Beyond the fence, a house stands is visible at left and a barn stands at right.
