A drummer, possible member of the band Under Yermolin’s Direction (Под управлением Ермолина), plays on stage at the Leningrad Rock Club on the occasion of John Lennon's birthday, St. Petersburg, October 9, 1981. The drumkit sits between the camera and the drummer at center. He sits and plays while facing towards the right. Behind and to the right of him, sound equipment and a grand piano sit on stage. A person stands in the stage wings to the right of the sound equipment. The neck of a bass guitar enters frame in the foreground along the left edge. More sound equipment is stacked along the left edge behind the guitar neck and a microphone stand. Curtains hang along the back of the stage area.
