In subsection 3.4.1 titled” Besonderheiten der Bezeichnung und Beschreibung der Merkmale des Äußeren der negriden Rassegruppe" -"Features of the Designation and Description of the Features of the Appearance of the Negro Racial Group", Bochmann explains that it's important to note that there is a greater "variation of traits in negroes." This is a portion of his manual to train border guards to identify people of vaious races passing through the checkpoint. He explains that it is difficult for people to identify persons from other racial groups, and that in each racial group, there are many individual characteristics. He gives an example of how Chinese migrants to Peru exploited border guards’ inability to perceive facial differences by sending fake papers back to relatives in China, causing even more Chinese migrants to enter the country. This section of his text is followed by many photographs of people of different races that do not match their passport photos.
