Description

This is a briefcase set. The gray leather suitcase with white stitching contains a party pin and a variety of books, maps and pamphlets relating to the Eleventh Party Conference of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany which took place in Berlin in April 1986. Each of the items has the party emblem, a red flag with a handshake. Underneath the flag is the inscription “XI. Parteitag” (Eleventh Party Conference). The briefcase contains three maps with color images of the Palace of the Republic in Berlin. The inscription on two of the maps reads, “Berlin / Hauptstadt der DDR / Stadtplan” (Berlin / Capital of the GDR / City Map). Also included are four red and white pamphlets with black lettering containing reports on party organization and candidates. The briefcase contains a copy of Erich Honecker’s book, “10 Reden und Aufsätze” (10 Speeches and Essays), as well as a pamphlet with the inscription “Statut / der / Sozialistischen / Einheitspartei / Deutschlands / Beschlossen vom IX. Parteitag der / Sozialistischen Einheitspartei Deutschlands / 1976” (Statute of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany / Established by the Ninth Party Conference of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany 1976). All materials in bag are in excellent condition.
