It is a FDGB political poster. The top of the poster states "Festigt die Einheit" (Secure unity) in red, capital letters. In the middle of the poster are three people (two men and a woman) standing. The men are holding a sledge hammer, a pick and a lantern. The woman is holding a spool of string. On both sides are factories belching out smoke. The three people are standing on large red, block letters which say "FDGB". The bottom of the poster states "Eure Stimme den entschiedensten Antifaschisten, den Männern und Frauen, die sich verpflichten, die gewerkschaftlichen Grundsätze und Forderungen auch in den Parlamenten zu vertreten!" (Give your vote to the most determined anti-fascists, the men and women who committ themselves to support the union's principles and demands in the representative bodies), in black letters. On the very bottom, the poster says "Freier Deutscher Gewerkschafts-Bund/Sachsen" in red letters. On the bottom right corner the date, 1/10/46, and the sequence pi-05172 in small, black print. The bottom left corner has a "DEFA" logo that is half torn off. The paper is discolored.
