Description

This orange polyurethane garden egg chair with a brown cushion was designed by Peter Ghyczy in West Germany in 1968. The polyurethane process and design were later sold to the East German State-Owned Enterprise Synthese-Werk in Schwarzheide, which manufactured and sold the chair beginning in 1971. The chair becomes waterproof and weatherproof when the back is folded down, forming a hard, egg-shaped shell.
