Image is a propped up cutout, featuring a well dresed man, surrounded by beautiful food items and green fields. His face is missing, allowing anyone to put their face in his. However, behind this bright and optimistic image, lie barren fields and darkness. A rundown or abandoned farm can be seen in the background. The message, "Down with window dressing!", tells observers to not put on a false front to be well received. Do not falsify your reports and present your situation as pleasant to meet expectations when the reality is so grim. This image need not apply strictly to agricultural fronting. In the Gorbachev era, as part of glasnost and perestroika, a public effort was encouraged to point out society's shortcomings so that they may be addressed directly. This poster directs the public to "tell it like it is" so that problems can be noted and remedied. On the reverse, beneath the packaging, is a strip cut from the poster with the artist name, city, and the fact that he won 2nd place in the poster competition. There is also a symbol resembling a lightning bolt.
