Oversized brown magazine with green and tan text. This issue is about economic development focusing on the Soviet Union growing more economically independent by making it's own machinery. In this effort, the magazine concentrates on the two factories, Krammashstroi and Uralmashstroi. The magazine contains pictures of factories, machines, and workers. There is a small bend in the upper right corner of the cover, and a few, small imperfections on the front; also, there is a smudge on the back cover. Contextual Note: 'USSR in Construction' was a Soviet propaganda magazine published from 1930 to 1941 and briefly in 1949. Printed in the USSR and distributed internationally, it was issued in five languages: Russian, English, German, French, and Spanish (added in 1938). The magazine aimed to promote Soviet achievements abroad through striking photography and avant-garde design.
