A hand carved, wooden jewelry box commemorating the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The box is covered in a reddish-brown varnish. The lid of the box is adorned with the emblem of the 1980 Olympic Games--6 lines coming from left and right which converge and rise to a star with the Olympic rings below--surrounded by laurels and what could either be flowers or fireworks. The sides, excluding the back, have been carved with a series of tear drop shapes above two horizontal lines. The bottom and the inside of the box are unvarnished, plain wood. The bottom also has a stamp that looks like the number 6. There are two dowels on the bottom side of the lid which fit into two holes in the sides to secure the lid.
