Oversized green magazine with tan text. Covers health resorts, or sanatoriums, across the Soviet Union, including modern day locations of Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Features sanitorium health resorts city by city and the range of resort focus: from treating tuberculosis, to sunbathing, baths, and a children's dedicated health report. Photos of people featured throughout. Notably, contains a fold out map at the beginning showing resort locations. Contextual Note: 'USSR in Construction' was a Soviet propaganda magazine published from 1930 to 1941 and briefly in 1949. Printed in the USSR and distributed internationally, it was issued in five languages: Russian, English, German, French, and Spanish (added in 1938). The magazine aimed to promote Soviet achievements abroad through striking photography and avant-garde design.
