This is a paper menu from "Haus Katzenstein" in the Ore Mountain region in former East Germany. The Ore Mountains are located along the modern day Czech-German border between the historical region of Bohemia in the Czech Republic and Saxony in Germany. The front of the menu welcomes the guest to the venue and explains that they offer dancing, music, food, and drinks. The first page explains that each food or drink offered is connected to a number. To order, guests are instructed to enter the desired number in the ticket. The list of selected offerings are sorted into lunch, kid's menu, and dinner. Lunch is further subdivided into the following categories: poultry, fish dishes, stews, pre-made meals, wild game, and stir-frys. Dinner is further subdivided into cold and warm dishes. There are playful illustrations on the front cover, back cover, the inner front cover, and the first page. There is an illustration of a black cat on the front cover and a landscape of trees and mountains on the back. There is an illustration of a roast dinner and a chef on the inner front cover. The first page has a large illustration of a chef behind the text. The menu is held together with staples.
