This item is a children's textbook titled UNSERE FIBEL. The cover is bright orange and the title is printed at the top of the cover in large white block lettering. Below the titles, there is an illustration of a young boy, a young girl, a dog, and a small bird. The young boy is blonde and carrying the letter A. He is stratching his head as he looks down at the letter in his hand. He is wearing a purple sweater, blue jeans, and black shoes. The young girl is also blonde and carring the letter M. She is looking at the boy and pointing up at the title. She is wearing a pink bow in her hair, a white collared shirt with blue polka dots, a blue pleated skirt, white socks with a red trim, and brown shoes. The dog is brown and is low to the ground looking at the bird. The bird is brown and looking at the dog. The back cover has an illustration of five children, a dog, and a bird. At the top of the cover, three children are playing together. There are two boys and one girl, they appear to be chasing the bird that is flying towards the left. The dog appears to be running next to them playing along. Much larger towards the middle and bottom of the back cover, a young girl and boy are looking at a white paper with blue triangular shapes on it. The book is 111 pages long and entails several lessons and guides for spelling, writing, reading, and grammar. Many of the lessons, guides, and examples pertain to GDR culture and daily life and are illustrated with colorful and cartoonish pictures.
