A guide book on the 1956 All-Union Agricultural Exhibition, providing an overview of the various features of the Exhibition. The cover features an engraved, metallic gold illustration of a man and woman raising a large bushel of grain above their heads. The spine is decorated with metallic gold bundles of wheat, and the back cover features a smaller, simplified version of the front cover engraving, with the addition of a billowing flag and the letters "ВСХВ" (VSHV; acronym for the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition). The table of contents, located in the back of the book, outlines six sections. Section One provides an overview of the main "pavilion," or building, at the Exhibition, as well as the pavilions for various Soviet republics and oblasts. Section Two outlines the pavilions for various types of crop production. Section Three outlines the pavilions dedicated to various aspects of livestock farming and husbandry. Section Four outlines the pavilions dedicated to the mechanization and modernization of agriculture. Section Five is dedicated to the pavilions dedicated to the buildings of kolkhoz (collective farm) villages, and Section Six outlines a recreation area. The book contains photographs of various pavilions, showcasing a variety of architectural styles. The last two pages of the book are left blank under the heading "Для заметок" (For notes), indicating space for the owner of the book to take notes. A small, loose piece of paper, inserted between the cover and the front pages, explains that, if any typos or errors are found in this copy, the owner is entitled to a free exchange or refund. A large, loose color map of the Exhibition grounds shows the plans for the locations of the pavilions and other features of the Exhibition.
