Dedovshina refers to the brutal treatment of younger soldiers in the Soviet Army by their senior comrades. Many young people drafted had suffered a lot because of this ugly sort of tradition which one should certainly be ashamed of. This painting is of a soldier with a fist in the foreground. The Russian text states, "deloi dedovshchina" Translated: "away with dedovshina" NOTE: This painting conveys the same message as poster 2009.053.030 by Vaganov.
