The Storm Quickly Erupts

Date Made: 1990
Country: Soviet Union

Method: Tempera paint on fiberboard

Painting of white ship in a storm. The title of this poster is the line from a poem by Maxim Gorky who prediced the revolution storm to overthrow Romanov's dynasty. The ship of the Soviet Union made in the form of a rostrum from which so many empty words were spoken is about to sink because of the perestroika storm. The famous slogan standardly saying that the party and the people are united is almost invisible these days because of the powerful revolution waves and the great storm of dramatic changes in the Soviet Union and the world. The Russian text states, "Buria skoro frianet buria! translated: "the storm quickly erupts!"
