Saint Nicholas
Date Made: 1992
Country: Soviet Union
A Byzantine style painting of Saint Nicholas fills the entire poster, his gaze off to the left and his lips highlighted by a dark red shade. A light-colored cross in the background is partially obscured by the saint’s head, creating a yellow halo. Saint Nicholas, known as the patron saint of sailors, is a popular Russian Orthodox saint often featured on icons.
