Bill Aron, Sukkot in Sukkah, 1981, Minsk. Image of three men seated inside a sukkah on the first night of Sukkot, drinking and eating apples. The photographer shared this meal with the men at the Minsk synagogue. The next night, the meal was canceled upon a visit by Soviet police, who claimed to be inspecting zoning permits for an oven being built next door to bake matzah.
