ICEA Chess, proudly sponsored by The Wende Museum, hosts a free quarterly one-day chess tournament open to players of all ages and skill levels. This event offers a fun, competitive, and welcoming chess experience in one of Culver City’s most unique and inspiring cultural venues.

Whether you are an experienced tournament player or brand new to competitive chess, this event is a wonderful opportunity to sharpen your skills, meet fellow chess enthusiasts, and enjoy a full day of strategy, learning, and community — all at no cost.

Tournament Sections

– USCF-Rated Sections (A valid US Chess membership is required.)

– OPEN
– 1000+
– U1000

– Non-Rated Section (US Chess membership is NOT required.)

– Rising Stars

Tournament Format: 4SS, G/30;+5
(4 rounds — each player receives 30 minutes with a 5-second increment per move.)

Schedule

– Opening Ceremony / Rules Review: 8:45 AM
– Round 1: 9:00 AM
– Round 2: 10:30 AM
– Round 3: 12:00 PM
– Round 4: 2:00 PM
– Awards Ceremony: Immediately after all games finish
