Bauhaus | Paper Folding: An Introduction
Led by Albers Foundation Education Director Fritz Horstman, this workshop will be an exploration of the incredible potential of the most mundane of materials. Beginning with very simple ideas and techniques, the class will gain skill and move towards some of the folding patterns and ideas developed by Josef Albers when he was teaching at the Bauhaus. Paper folding is also a component of Horstman’s own art practice. Participants will be given (achievable) challenges, as well as time to experiment with new skills and material.
No prior experience is required. Note that though some of the skills and materials are similar, this is not an origami workshop.
